2020’s Euro20+

Town hall meeting with Jens Weidmann

The Bundesbank ran its third incarnation of Euro20+ over the week of 26 October to 30 October 2020. The forum brings together independent-minded young people aged 18 to 30 and invites them to share their views. The last day consisted of a virtual town hall meeting where participants were given the opportunity to discuss their thoughts on the Eurosystem’s monetary policy with Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann. Esra Karakaya acted as moderator for the meeting.

The workshops – a snapshot

The main topic was the future of the ECB’s monetary policy. In six exciting workshops, our speakers discussed the issues of appropriate inflation rates, the relationship between monetary policy and the stability of the financial system, and the challenges to European monetary policy posed by globalisation, digitalisation and climate change. Laura Ensgaber produced visual representations of the workshop results.
